Anna Roughton, President and Owner
Being involved in the business for over 4 years now, Anna is starting to really understand the needs of business’s and their employees along with the many individuals that have been coming to the center. Anna has been taking an active role in the community and many business groups like TAE and other business associations. “Being able to speak to other business owners about issues like we have is really a great asset and one reason I enjoy these associations.”
Anna has begun to spend more time in the office working with the students than she was in the past, when she was working on more G & A parts of the business. She is still very involved with her 2 kids, both now being in High school and the many sports they play.
Anna was a driving force in many of the upgrades we have made at the center this year. We have gone to 100% LCD screens, servrs and furniture.
Anna is always willing to discuss anything involving the center or its employees, just give her a call.
Paul Roughton Vice President and Owner
Paul has lived in Tucson for over 30 years, returning here in the summer of 2005 after 5 long rainy years in the Pacific Northwest. Paul attended Sabino High School and Graduated from the University of Arizona in 1992, were he met his wife Anna. Anna and Paul have 2 great kids, Kyle and Haley, and are very active in their sports and many other outdoor activities. On most weekends, you can catch Paul and the family in the Sand Dunes, at a soccer or Lacrosse field, or at the lakes boating.
Paul worked in the Automotive field for quite a few years with El Campo Tire then Monroe Shocks as a manufacturers rep. Paul’s last job before buying New Horizons was working for The First Data Corporation where he managed 3 states and over 20 sales reps in Oregon, Washington and Alaska.
“I really feel that all businesses have different needs and expectations, and if we can not meet those, we are not doing our job at New Horizons. Our goal should be to find a solution that best fits the business’s needs.” There are other choices in Arizona when it comes to training, but no one else puts the time and resources into the training business as we do at New Horizons. We have 6 on-staff Microsoft Certified Trainers. To have them and keep all of their credentials current is expensive and time consuming, but when people take a class from us they see the difference. We do not use Subject Matter Experts (SME), they are usually uncertified teachers that learned the subject, as opposed to working with the technology and understanding it. No other center can match our 4 modalities of training (instructor led, on line classes, mentored learning, and on line instructor led classes), nor can they match the breadth of classes we teach. All of our instructors not only teach the classes, but also spend time putting their knowledge to use in the real world, to make sure their skills are what our customers need. We are first to get new information on certification, classes and software availability before other technology centers. We also offer Hands on Labs to our business community because of our affiliation with the Microsoft Gold partner Program. There is a reason Microsoft has the Partner program and its difference levels, and when you come experience one of our instructors or our facility, you will see why we are held to a higher standard.” I understand the needs of Arizona in the current Market conditions and I am always willing to help a business or family when and where I can.
We are very involved in Community Out reach. Paul coaches soccer st Sabino High School and for a local club.
We have also donated our time along with Go Web Solutions creating a website for a local soccer team, and try to help other members of the community whenever we can.
